LITTLE Makenzi Thomson was fighting for life before she was even born.

Her bowel had grown outside her body and she had to be delivered six weeks early when she stopped moving in her mother's womb.


Weighing just 4lb 5oz she was rushed to theatre when she was only a few hours old for the first of three life-saving operations.

MOST of her friends can’t wait to pass their driving test, but schoolgirl Anna Livesley has gone one better - and become Scotland’s youngest qualified pilot.


The fifth year pupil earned her wings on her 17th birthday last week - less than two years after first setting foot in the cockpit.

Doctors tried one last time to save Keira – and it paid off
